Oregon's Beautiful Bounty

A few of my paintings are featured in the show Oregon's Beautiful Bounty in the David Joyce Gallery at Lane Community College. There is an artists' reception this Thursday, November 6th, 5-7pm. You can find the David Joyce Gallery in the Center for Meeting and Learning on the LCC main campus. The show is hosted by the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Program and will have complementary hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. I will be there with Michelle and Henry.

Demo

I will be doing a painting demonstration at the U of O Bookstore this Saturday, November 1 from 2-4pm.

On the Easel

I am finishing up this painting of a pair of Hosoi Vans. A couple years ago I met Garth from Coolestshop.com. Recently I borrowed some of the shoes from his personal collection to use for paintings. I have a lot of material for my interest in painting pictures of shoes. I am also interested in painting some vintage guitars. I'm on the look out for guitar collectors who want to grant me access to their collection.
This is a large painting 24"x48". This stage of the painting is interesting. I have been deep in the flow for a while and now I am about at the end. Now I have to look for the tiny details I want to get right.

Rochelle canceled at the last minute. Teague and I will still be open. Henry and Michelle will still make an appearance.

245 Media is in the studio next to mine. Cody and Chad came up with this video that I thought turned out pretty cool.

Rochelle Hunter

Teague and I are going to try to pump some life into the art walk. We invited Rochelle Hunter to come sing. She is going to play some acoustic stuff and I think she is going to bring some friends to help her out. You can hear a little preview on her myspace page. I have a few of paintings in the studio that I am working on for my Jacobs Gallery show in January. I just dropped off five paintings to hang in a show called "Oregon's Beautiful Bounty" at the David Joyce Gallery. It will run September 19th through the end of December. Slug Queen

I usually stick to studio news but here is a pic of Michelle and Henry ( my wife and son ). We were at Saturday Market where Constance Van Flandern was campaigning to be the new Slug Queen.

I plan to be at the Maude Kerns upcoming exhibit, Artists as Educators opening reception July 25, 6-8pm. I will stay for a while then head over to the studio for the Last Friday Art Walk. Here is a map.
